The Faculty of Dentistry offers a five-year program (10semesters) leading to a degree of Bachelor in Dental Medicine and Surgery. Students must complete a minimum of 226 credit hours for graduation. Basic Science courses that build your essential scientific foundation, and introduce you to practical work with your tactile and visual senses.
Basic medical courses that establish the essential bases for healthcare generally, in addition to a dental material course introducing materials being used in dentistry. Courses include human anatomy and human physiology.
Combined teaching in the practical arts of dentistry occurs in this year where this is a year where you will get to know the basic dental subspecialties such as operative dentistry and fixed prosthesis.
The Student now embarks upon the provision of clinical care for assigned patients. Emphasis is on the comprehensive assessment and appropriate managment of oral care needs for patients for whom the student is the primary provider
